A new villa above the Atlantic
Elysium Calheta is the second house of the Elysium family, after Elysium São Vicente on the north coast. It is the last house of Vereda dos Álamos in Arco da Calheta, a very quiet street with pristine views over the ocean and, on most days, perfect weather.
It has three bedrooms, all with air conditioning, and Wi-Fi inside and outside. The huge heated infinity pool measures 14 by 4 metres and has a whirlpool built in. A dedicated upper terrace has a churrasco (barbecue), and a tropical garden greets you at the front.
The house is still being finished and we are not taking bookings yet. Leave us a message to be among the first to hear when it opens, or to ask about dates.

Arco da Calheta, in the sun
The south-west of Madeira is the sunniest and calmest part of the island. Arco da Calheta lies on a green hillside between banana terraces and the sea, with beaches, small harbours and old fishing villages a short drive away.
How to find us: the street is right behind the Hotel Engenho Velho, and Elysium is the last house on it. The Via Rápida, the island's express road, is close by, so Funchal, the airport and the rest of the island are easy to reach.
